From your request for quote to final installation, our goal at Cogan is to make working together so seamless, it’s effortless. Our engineers are among the finest in the business, while our experienced staff and extensive network of design consultants and authorized installers are committed to keeping you satisfied by providing the smartest, most cost-effective solutions to your specific needs.
We handle each order with the time and care it takes to do it properly. Here is a step-by-step guide of what to expect when you work with Cogan:

Step 1: Free Design Consultation

Whether you’re a material handling pro or just getting started, our design consultants have years of experience to advise you at every level. Let us visit the job site and perform a complete project evaluation. We’ll assess your needs, discuss your vision for the space and suggest solutions to fit your timeline and your budget.

Step 2: RFQ/Estimation

Once we’ve completed your project assessment and discussed any specific aesthetic preferences, we’ll submit a complete details package to our Estimation Department. This will include:
  • Full description of your project and what it will be used for.
  • Layout (AutoCAD drawing or detailed hand sketch).

A layout is extremely important. We can’t quote your project without one. We like to treat every RFQ as if it were an order. Not only will this save you time during the approval phase, but it also ensures that you get the most accurate design with the most accurate pricing possible:
  • Turnaround time is 24-48 hours. We’re working with custom design criteria and some projects take longer than others. If special engineering review is required, we will advise you of the expected quote date.
  • Turnaround time for revisions is 24-48 hours.

Step 3: Placing an Order

  • Review the Quote Details before placing your order: pricing, freight, terms and conditions.
  • Send us your purchase order referencing the applicable Cogan quote number and dollar value. This will help us process your order faster.
  • You will receive an Order Confirmation from our Credit Department within 24-48 hours; this time includes order entry and credit approval.

Step 4: Engineering and Approval Drawings

Whether it’s worth $500 or $100,000, every custom project we receive gets an Approval Drawing. It’s just responsible manufacturing and we want your order to be perfect. Here are the turnaround times you can expect:

Please note that accurate approval drawings are extremely important. Once you’ve approved your drawing after a site visit, we run it through an automated 3D engineering software, which is the closest thing to physically building your order. Changes made after your order has been modeled are very time consuming. In order to avoid potential problems, please be mindful and review your drawing on-site carefully before telling us to proceed.Important: Fees will apply for engineering in case of cancellation.
Some standard components do not require approvals drawings.

Feel free to give our Engineering Department a call or leave a detailed voicemail at any time. Any questions or requests will be addressed within 24-48 hours. When our engineers are focused on a project, it is important that they see it through from start to finish. Minimal interruptions ensure the quality and accuracy of our designs. When we arrive at your turn, you will receive our full and undivided attention.

Step 5: Production Phase

Once your have signed off on your approval drawings (if required), your order is scheduled for production. You will receive an automated shipping window within 48 hours. Production time varies depending on the dollar value and complexity of your project.


Step 6: Shipping

When your order is ready to ship, you will be notified by our Transport Department. At this point, you have two options:
  • Cogan can arrange freight using our shipping services.
  • You can arrange your own freight for pick up at our facility. Appointments are required to reduce waiting time.

Either way, we will provide you with all the information you need to make sure your order is ready to ship on time.
Please note that Cogan cannot guarantee the exact arrival time of your delivery. When possible have the customer unload the shipment and then advise the installation team that the material has been delivered.

Step 7: Customer Care

If your order has shipped and you require further assistance on the job site, you can contact our Customer Care Department at any time. They will address your concerns in a timely manner.
